I’m a girl who values convenience. Throw something in a bundle and I’m sold! The Prawn, Oyster and Bug Box has everything I need in one click, perfect for my friend’s Christmas lunch before heading home for the main event.
It comes with 2kg of prawns (hello, prawn rolls with seafood sauce), two dozen oysters to serve on ice with a glass of champagne, and Moreton Bay Bugs ready to transform into my signature bug rolls inspired by the Burleigh Pav. It’s $355, but worth every cent for the time it saves and honestly, I think I’m even saving money!
For me, Christmas just isn’t Christmas without oysters. I grew up in Colombia, where we celebrate a little differently than here in Australia, but no matter where you are in the world, oysters always bring people together. They’re a must-have on my Christmas table every year.
I picked the Lobster Mornay because it’s such great value for what you get. It’s indulgent, it’s high-quality, and it doesn’t take long to prepare but tastes like you caught it fresh that morning. It’s my go-to for something that feels restaurant-level without all the work.
Who doesn’t love prawns on Christmas? They’re a classic! Our prawns are such great quality and always a hit with family and friends. I’m going big this year with the 3kg box, great value, super easy to serve, and guaranteed to disappear fast!
I’m a sucker for a proper Christmas ham but it has to be done right. I glaze ours with honey and serve it with fresh rolls and a creamy potato bake. My family loved the Manettas ham so much last year that they specifically asked for it again. And let’s be honest, there’s nothing better than leftover ham sandwiches on Boxing Day.
My pick might surprise some people but my pick is the lychees! When they’re ripe and A-grade quality (like ours), they’re the perfect summer treat. Sweet, refreshing, and a beautiful way to start Christmas lunch. They’re hard to find at this quality, which makes them even more special.
